Marianela Gonzalez Carranza DDS MS
Dr. Gonzalez Carranza received her Master Degree and Certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Texas A&M University in 1998 and 2000 respectively. She joined the Oral Surgery Department after 7 years-experience in Hospital and Clinic settings in Venezuela. She has been practicing since 2000 and teaching for 11 years a in the areas of Distraction Osteogenesis, Orthognathic Surgery, complex facial fractures, bone and soft tissue regeneration using BMP-2, dental implants and cosmetic procedures for all craniofacial deformities.
Dr. Gonzalez effectively leads teams of undergraduates, graduate and post-graduate students in caring for inpatient, outpatient, and surgical patients to ensure quality care. She has conducted research projects to develop and test surgical techniques improving operating procedures and outcomes. A dedicated Faculty student advisor always available to the students for direction and advice. Also a mentor for master degrees thesis for the departments of Orthodontics and Peridodontics at Texas A & M College of Dentistry. Author or co-author for 20 abstracts, 8 articles and 23 book chapters. Fluent in Spanish and English and has –publications in Spanish. Editor of a textbook: “Intraoral Maxillofacial Distraction” Wiley Co. to be published in 2019. President of the North Texas Oral Surgery Society and a renowned National and International speaker .
